Sundays are almost always spent in the kitchen. This Sunday was no exception.
I started the day off by making apple pie filling and freezing it for later. Our neighbor gave us some great just-picked apples from a local orchard. Delicious!
Then, we moved on to the pumpkins. I bought two sugar pumpkins the other day to make my own pumpkin puree for pies, pumpkin bars and whatnot. This will be my first time in doing so. As I write, the pumpkin is sitting in a huge bowl, draining, awaiting the freezer. Of course, we toasted the pumpkin seeds too!
Next on the list is cranberry sauce from scratch to be canned.
